Recently, on the 26th October 2003, anna was selected to perform both the australian and american national anthems for the 'lexmark indy 300'car race which is held on the gold coast, in queensland, Australia. This was televised to 40 countries around the world, which gave anna's fans from her 'savage garden'days something to look out for, since they visit her site regularly for updates.

Anna was dressed by queensland's hottest designer, 'athan-jon'. 'when i saw athan-jon's designs i knew he would be perfect for this event, considering the theme of his new range was black and white', said miss la spina.

FROM SAVAGE GARDEN TO THE LEXMARK INDY 300

Australian singer songwriter Anna-Maria La Spina has been selected to perform the Australian and United States national anthems at the 2003 Lexmark Indy 300 to be held on the Gold Coast from October 23 to 26.

Anna-Maria will perform the Australian national anthem before the Gillette V8 Supercar Challenge on Saturday October 25 and both United States and Australian national anthems before the Champ Car race on Sunday October 26, 2003.

Anna-Maria said she was excited to be chosen to perform at her home state's premier event.

'It will be a fantastic experience to perform the Australian and US national anthems live at the Lexmark Indy 300 in front of the large crowds on the Saturday and Sunday,'said Anna-Maria.

'This will be something new for me and it is a great opportunity considering the event is telecast right around the world.'

Lexmark Indy 300 General Manager James Ashworth said spectators will have the opportunity to see and hear one of Australia's most talented voices.

'Anna-Maria la Spina will add another wonderful element in what shapes as the best Lexmark Indy 300 in its 13-year history,'said Ashworth.

'She is considered one of this country's leading vocal talents and has the experience to back that up. We look forward to hearing her in full voice on the Saturday and Sunday of the event.'
